Sally Field’s latest appearance at Oscars has everyone talking

At this year’s Oscars, Sally Field, renowned for her roles in classics like Mrs. Doubtfire and Places in the Heart, graced the stage in a stunning white gown and a chic curly bob hairstyle.

Joining forces with fellow actresses Jessica LangeCharlize Theron, Jennifer Lawrence, and Michelle Yeoh, they presented the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, a category each of them had conquered in the past.

As the spotlight shone on the winner, Emma Stone for her performance in Poor Things, Sally, 77, enveloped her in a warm embrace, much to the delight of viewers worldwide.

Social media erupted with admiration for Sally’s timeless beauty, with one fan commenting on a photograph of the star: “Sally Field is still gorgeous.”

Recalling Sally’s iconic Oscar speech from 1985 when she won Best Actress for Places in the Heart, one user shared a GIF with the caption: “#sallyfield looking FABULOUS as always.”

Viewers also couldn’t help but notice the maternal warmth in Sally’s interaction with Emma Stone. “Sally Field speaking to Emma Stone is like a mother speaking to a daughter,” one viewer said of the tender moment.

Emma Stone herself expressed her admiration for Sally, saying: “Sally Field, I’ve gotten to work with three times. We have the same birthday. I just love her and what she was saying — all of those women I admire so much and look up to so much, so it was really special.”

Sally’s illustrious career spans over six decades, beginning with minor roles in films like Moon Pilot in 1962 and blossoming into television stardom with series like GidgetThe Flying Nun, and The Girl with Something Extra in the ’70s. Along the way, she has amassed numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards, multiple Emmy Awards, and two Golden Globes.

Reflecting on her journey after receiving the SAG Lifetime Achievement award last year, Sally shared insights into her resilient spirit in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I wasn’t trying to prove myself… The more complicated roles I can get to, the more pieces of myself I could find,” she revealed at the time.

Growing up in a working-class show business family, Sally learned firsthand that the entertainment industry is far from glamorous. “It’s not fun, it’s not easy,” she confessed, underscoring the dedication and perseverance required to thrive in the world of showbiz.
