Effective Tips For Cleaning Stained Baking Pans And Sheets

If you use baking pans, sheets, and casserole dishes on a regular basis, chances are they’re pretty stained. Over time, food residue builds up, and even the most rigorous scrubbing can’t get rid of it. That’s where these handy tips come in! From glass casserole dishes to aluminum baking sheets, these methods will have stubbornly stained bakeware looking brand new again.

1. Glass/Enamel Bakeware

For glass and enamel casserole dishes, baking soda and liquid dish soap is the winning combination. Start by sprinkling a generous amount of baking soda along the bottom of the dish, then squirt some dish soap around the dish. Fill the bottom of the dish with hot water, then let it sit for about 20 minutes. When the time’s up, use a brush to scrub in circular motions before rinsing.

2. Stainless Steel/Cast Iron Pans

For stainless steel and cast iron bakeware, you’ll want to use distilled vinegar and baking soda. Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda across the bottom of the bakeware. Next, pour some vinegar into the pan. After a few minutes, you can use a scrub brush to loosen any remaining residue before rinsing.

3. Aluminum Baking Sheets

For stubbornly stained aluminum baking sheets, you’ll need a lemon and some coarse salt. Slice a lemon into multiple pieces and use the fleshy, fruit part to pick up some coarse salt. Use the lemon slices in place of a scrub brush, scrubbing in circular motions. The salt will help to loosen up the grime. Wash with warm soapy water when you’re done with the lemon.
